The Scotts

Lawrence Scott was born in Scotland and migrated to Williamsburg.  As an adult he joined a wagon train going west,  but stayed behind in Brumley Gap, VA and built the house under the Pinnacles in Poor Valley, VA.  One Sunday he jumped from the safety of his wagon to save a little girl from being attacked by a mad dog.  Knowing what would happen he instructed the other men in the area, "When the madness comes upon me, you know what to do."  Some time later they did.  He died ca 1800.
